Wk 4 - SA2 Writing Practice Paper (for Writing Exam on Next Mon) and Children's Day Celebration (Thur, 6 Oct)

Dear Parents and Pupils,

SA2 Writing Practice Paper (for Writing Exam on Next Mon)
As a preparation for our SA2 Writing Paper, our children have been given a Writing Practice today, titled "A Birthday Celebration Gone Wrong". To allow time for our children to do a good writing piece, they are given more time and may submit either on This Thursday or Next Monday.

Thank you parents for encouraging your child to use the following vocabulary and grammar items in the previous writing on "There's a _________ _________!". There is a noteworthy improvement in the writing pieces. Hopefully this practice has helped in preparing our children for their upcoming SA2 writing exam.

Likewise, for today's writing practice, our children have been briefed again to apply them. You may like to revise the following points with your child again and reinforce in them to use them in today's writing:
1) Direct speeches
2) Use of punctuation marks (E.g. exclamation mark to express strong feelings)
3) Similes
4) Adjectives
5) Feelings phrases (Happiness, Disappointment, Anxiety)
6) Saying verbs to replace the use of "said" (E.g. exclaimed, wondered, muttered, etc.)

Learn Spelling (Spelling Tomorrow)
Gentle reminder for pupils to:
- Learn Spelling (Spelling List 2)
- Do spelling and dictation corrections and have your spelling book signed
