Wk 5 - Today's Homework

Dear Parents and Pupils,


Today's Homework (Submit Tomorrow, Thursday 28th July)
In the past week, our children have been taught action phrases to illustrate feelings and direct speech saying verbs which they could add into their writing. In their homework for today, they will have to use the above 2 items to complete a writing on "The _________ Challenge/Competition" in their MLEA books. They may refer to the following to help them:
1) Group Planning Worksheet
2) Worksheet - Phrases of Feelings (Happiness, Disappointment, Anxiety)

Wk 4 - Change of Spelling and Dictation and Important Notifications

Dear Parents,


Change of Spelling and Dictation
Please note the following change pertaining to Spelling and Dictation List.
1) Spelling and dictation (scheduled on  27th July) will be brought forward to this Wednesday (20th July) while
2) Spelling and dictation (scheduled on  20th July) will be changed to next Wednesday (27th July).

Break Time in Class
We will be giving our children a short break time in the class for English lessons from every Monday to Wednesday. During this time, they may walk around in our classroom, drink some water and look around at the posters on noticeboards. If only they are hungry, they may bring light and healthy snacks like sandwiches or biscuits to eat during this short break time allowed.

Wear Traditional Costumes (Thursday, 21st July)
To commemorate Racial Harmony Day, we would like to encourage our children to come to school in their Chinese, Malay, Indian or Eurasian costumes if they have at home. They will have to wear school shoes as per normal.

Class Photo-taking (Friday, 22nd July)
Our class will be having our photo-taking on this Friday. Our children will have to remember to come in their full school uniform as per usual on every Friday.

Wk 3 - Thinker With Integrity

Dear Parents and Pupils,


Thinker With Integrity
1 child from our class will be selected to represent 3 Integrity to give a value talk to the whole school. Details are as of follows:
1) Topic: Thinker with Integrity
2) Date and Time: Thursday, 11th August, during morning assembly at 7.30 a.m.

Script Writing (Submit to me by Next Friday, 22nd July)
Children who are keen to represent our class in this value talk may craft a script. You may like to refer to the following guiding questions:
1. Greet the school, introduce name and class
2. What the value means to you (do move beyond the definition from dictionary)  
3. Sharing of personal experience or learning points 
4. End off with a suitable quote (optional)
and submit to me by Next Friday, 22nd July.

Preparing for Presentation upon being selected
1) Cue cards are allowed
2) Clear and audible voice
3) Maintain eye contact with audience
4) Expressiveness
5) Clear Pronunciation

To develop our children in the learning of valueswriting and oracy skills, our children have earlier been briefed yesterday about this value talk and are encouraged to send in their entries to me.

Wk 3 - Semester 2 CCA Schedule

Semester 2 CCA Schedule
A gentle note to parents and pupils - you may like to refer to our In-Touch Newsletter given out earlier this term for the CCA Schedule for this semester. CCA sessions fall on Tuesdays. There are some CCAs which may also have sessions on Thursday. Our children will have to check with their CCA teachers during CCA sessions if they need to find out more.

Wk 2 - Spelling and Dictation (This Thursday, 7th July)

Spelling and Dictation (This Thursday, 7th July)
Spelling and dictation lists for this term have been given out to our children today. Please note that for this week, in view of Hari Raya Puasa tomorrow, we have scheduled our spelling and dictation to be on Thursday, 7th July, instead of having it usually on Wednesdays.

Gentle reminder for pupils to:

- Do spelling corrections and show to your parents for signature

CCA Consent Form (Submit on Next Tuesday, 5th July)
Consent forms regarding CCAs have been given out today. It is a must for al pupils to participate in a CCA. If your child has received this consent form, I would like to seek your help to fill out and allow your child to bring it back on Next Tuesday, 5th July.

*A gentle note that pupils need not come to school on Next Monday (Youth Day) and Wednesday (Hari Raya Puasa).
