Sign Letter (Primary 3 Semestral Assessment 2016)
Our children have received a letter today indicating the topics or components which they will have to study for the different subjects to prepare themselves for their upcoming SA2 Exams. I would like to seek your help to sign this letter and allow our children to submit to me tomorrow. I would like to also rope in your help and support to spend some time to check that our children revise their work at home
Thank you parents for enquiring the breakdown for SA2 EL marks. You may like to refer to the following:
1) Oral (____/16 marks) (Next Mon, 3 Oct)
2) Writing (____/20 marks) (Mon, 10 Oct)
3) Listening Comprehension (____/14 marks) (Wed, 12 Oct)
4) Paper 2 (____/50 marks) (Mon, 24 Oct)
Oral: Read Aloud and Stimulus-based Conversation (SBC) (Next Mon, 3 Oct)
Our children will need to stay back after school on Next Monday for their EL and MT oral exam. It may approximately end around 3.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. You may like to make transport arrangements if you are picking up your child on that day.
Read-aloud Throughout this year, our children have been taught to read aloud together as a class in the following way. These should be familiar to them and will help them in their oral exam. In the classroom, we have not had many opportunities to have each child to take turns to read aloud. Hence it would help if you sit with your child 1 to 1, run through the pointers below, get them to voice out what each point means and have them practise reading aloud to you.
1) Pronounce Clearly
2) Read expressively
3) Appropriate pauses, varying tone and intonation
4) Audible
5) Stress on special words
SBC
For SBC, pupils will have to focus on initiating responses instead of waiting for teacher to prompt. They must be able to share personal responses well and be confident.
*McOnline Practices: There are good practices on Mconline. For stimulus-based conversations practices, there are useful prompts provided to help your child too.
Learn Spelling and Dictation
Do learn spelling and dictation for tomorrow. Complete all corrections and show your parents for signature.
Thank you.
Warm Regards,
Ms Tan
